Whenever any job is duplicated and shares common elements, such as photos, logos, or layouts, it should be turned in to a template.

Templates live within the /TEMPLATES folder such as the one below:

/CREATIVE/QUEST DIAGNOSTICS/TEMPLATES/PRINT/2015 Brand Templates/Competitive Landscape/XXXXX-v1-CL-[NAME].indd

Follow the example shown in this file, ensuing your template meets the following criteria:

  • Every piece of text is a pure style, meaning there is no plus sign shown when it is used.
  • Character styles are used for all unique styling.
  • The name of the style is shown on the first usage in the template
  • Common rules for creating a file are placed in a yellow box on the artboard
  • All images are linked to an image in the Photos Logos directory, preferably in Template Images
  • QD_stacked_logo_r_cmyk_gradient_unchecked mesh.eps is the logo that should be used to avoid strange circular patterning on output
